Tis the Season for Quality Packaging

Packaging is central to retail. It doesn’t just serve a crucial practical purpose, but it is also effective in other ways too: such as marketing. Not all ways to promote your business have to be expensive, and quality retail packaging can have the secondary effect of advertising your brand or shop.

What do we think about when we think of Christmas? Packaging. Of course packaging is important all through the year, however it is part and parcel of the festive period. During Christmas, packaging becomes more colourful, more vibrant and more appreciated.

Should you experience a sales push over and around the Christmas period then it is very important that you step up your packaging. Of course, depending on what you sell, packaging can be very important; for instance if you sell gifts, then by packaging your items well you save your customer a job.

Even plastic bags can be more important than you realise. They are of course very practical, and still the cheapest and simplest way to carry goods out of shops. A good plastic bag can really punch above its weight however, and have a very positive effect on the way customers see your store.

You might consider matching your packaging with certain times of the year. When it is Christmas offer yuletide packaging and when it is Valentine’s Day offer  romantic packaging. If you don’t sell seasonal products this is a great way of getting into the swing of things.
